Why Are Branding and Messaging Important for Your Business?

You will learn the importance of branding, and how using branding and the right messaging are essential parts of your overall social media and marketing strategy.

A brand is the identity and story of your company that makes it stand out from competitors that sell similar products or services. The goal of branding is for your business to stay top of mind to your target audience and become their preferred option for doing business. Brand identity is not about the pretty packaging, but about communicating your brand story effectively.

In this workshop we will talk about how to create your brand story and business branding.  We will discuss how your business logo, colors, slogan and personality are a part of your branding that needs to be consistent to build your authority and authenticity to your audience.

We will discuss developing a connection to your audience and giving them the sense of a relationship with you where you provide value to them first, before you start selling to them.  You will then learn how to create content using the right messaging to reach your target audience on social media.  You first need to know who your ideal client is in order to speak directly to them with your messaging.

Theresa Bloom is a Social Media Adviser at the Turner Center, as well as the Social Media Manager for the Foster College of Business and Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology at Bradley University.  Theresa has been with the Turner Center for 5 years.  She enjoys working with small business owners and those wanting to start their own business.  She has a passion for helping business owners get their businesses discovered through the use of social media, and is excited to share her knowledge and expertise with her clients.  Prior to coming to Bradley, she had a career in the medical field, as well as past experience in the insurance industry.
