Founded in 1979 as General Piping Corporation, we initially specialized in power and industrial process piping. Yet, the challenges of the late 1970s and early 1980s led us to redefine our approach. Embracing the role of a comprehensive single-source provider, we positioned ourselves to thrive in a complex business environment. This transition not only marked our resilience but also paved the way for enduring success.
Guided by the principle of providing attentive service, we acquired the former Kaiser Concrete building in East Peoria, IL, in 1979. For a quarter-century, this facility served as the nucleus of our operations, facilitating substantial growth, particularly in the power generation realm where our prowess in boiler maintenance and repair became evident. This momentum led to our transition to General Power Construction Co. in 1983, signifying our expanded footprint in diverse power generation and industrial construction domains.
